On Friday students at Hinchingbrooke School participated in the 10 Hours of Sport challenge, alongside schools across Cambridgeshire, raising funds for The Malcolm Whales Foundation to support those affected by cancer.
I met with Damien to learn more about his Foundation last year when I visited Malcolm’s Retreat at Rookery Waters, their respite cabin that can be used, free of charge, for those affected by cancer. You can find out more here: https://tmwf.co.uk/malcolms-retreat/
It was fantastic to see so many students participating in the sports which saw everything from cricket, netball and American football, through to darts and dodgeball and I was probably too keen to have a go myself given how hot it was.
The challenge raised a significant amount of funds, as well as giving pupils the chance to stay active and participating in sport as part of a group.
Congratulations to all those pupils who took part, raising funds and staff for organising to make it happen. If you’d like to know more about the foundation, or about their upcoming three-day Dorset Walk, you can find them by clicking on the hyperlink to their Facebook page.
