Fantastic to be part of the The Speaker of the House’s Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremony today in New Palace Yard to start the commemoration of Armed Forces Week.
As a veteran it’s hugely important that we recognise the contribution of our service personnel, particularly at this time of increasing global tensions and the extra demands placed upon personnel.
There will be a significant defence focus in Parliament this week, with the Estimates Day debate in the budget for the Armed Forces, the NATO Summit, Armed Forces Day debate and statements on the US strikes in Iran and the security breach at RAF Brize Norton, all ahead of Defence Oral Questions next Monday.
I will continue to highlight the impact upon the constituency and where more support can be sought from the Government.
