Discussing the impact of Agricultural Property Relief being slashed in the Labour budget

“Given the speed and alacrity with which the Energy Secretary has covered the countryside with solar panels it should come as no surprise that the Government is so eager to force farmers out of business, freeing up swathes of the countryside to be sold to developers for more of the same.”

The Government’s reckless and ruinous decision to slash Agricultural Property Relief is effectively a “Family Farms Tax” that will have a devastating impact upon our farmers.

The Government will be forced to row back on this policy. I urge them to reconsider it sooner rather than later.
