It was great to host my final Parish Council roundtable in Westminster yesterday.
I welcomed Parish Councillors from Houghton and Wyton, Wyton on the Hill, Needingworth, Pidley, Bluntisham, Hemingford Grey and Earith.
The issue of development was a key topic under discussion as well as transport infrastructure, specifically the A141, 7.5tonne weight limit in Pidley, the Harrison Way roundabout and the Earith crossing. Whilst these are all issues I’m already aware of it was crucial to develop a more granular view and understand the challenges it presents.
These have proved to be a fantastic opportunity to forge links between our Parish Councils myself and the team in Westminster. The intention is to make this a regular fixture with meetings at least twice a year and ensure there’s a regular conduit between us.
