Keep Grafham tidy!
As you know, my weekend mornings are usually spent in lycra riding around the countryside, especially when it’s sunny, but not this weekend.
Great to be able to support the Grafham Parish Council annual litter pick and help support keeping the village pristine. Lovely to see so many out helping to keep the village clean.
Some real issues were highlighted to me on the verges outside the Grafham Water car park on Buckden Road. Lots of discarded picnic and BBQ rubbish in the ditches there and this is an issue Cllr Ian Gardener will be raising with Anglian Water.
Next Thursday there will be a presentation on the proposed closure of the Brampton/Grafham Road in favour of a ‘Quiet Way’. Sadly I won’t be able to attend as I’ll be in the solar farm debate in Parliament, but having written to the County Council about the proposal recommending instead that a reduction from the current national speed limit would be a better option I am hopeful that the suggestion will be taken forward.
