Huntingdon from the air!
It’s not every day that you’re given the opportunity to fly a plane, let alone an RAF plane over your own constituency.
This week I visited the Flying Training School at RAF Wittering, just west of Peterborough, as part of my role with the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme.
Being conveniently local to the base it was a real privilege to be able to fly over the constituent view it from the air, as well as being able to take the controls.
Not quite Top Gun, but It was hugely valuable to gain an insight into the first steps pilots undertake with the RAF, be it through the cadets or the University Air Squadrons.
Viewing from the air really does give you an appreciation of how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place.
