Happy Huntingdonshire Day!
The Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, invited Huntingdonshire’s MPs to join him this week in celebrating Huntingdonshire Day.
Myself and Ian Sollom (Sam Carling was a no show) joined the Speaker in New Palace Yard for a photo with the Huntingdonshire flag.
I can only assume that this is a tacit endorsement of Option E by both the Speaker and Ian and a reassertion that a Huntingdonshire-only unitary is the right choice for Local Government Reorganisation.
We have much to offer as Huntingdonshire, and this weeks meetings at the MOD and reception at the US Embassy around the Defence Technology Cluster and partnering with St Louis shows that our little county can punch above its weight on the international stage.
This is a hugely exciting time and I will do everything I can to help influence the Government to make the right choice for Huntingdonshire.
