It was fantastic to join the Huntingdonshire Volunteer Centre Trustees and staff’s annual gathering at the Floods Tavern to find out more about the work they do and the services they provide locally.
Hunt’s VC have offices in Huntingdon, St Ives, St Neots and Ramsey.
Their Community Car Scheme is a hugely valuable initiative that provides drivers so that those in the community who need it are able to get where they need to, be that the weekly shop or to a hospital appointment. There are parts of Huntingdonshire where reliable public transport simply doesn’t exist and for those who live in villages with infrequent, or even no, bus service getting from A-to-B becomes a significant challenge.
They are on the look out for more volunteer drivers, so if you are able to spare the time to act as a driver for those who faces mobility challenges and access to transport. If you would like to volunteer please contact them via the form here:

My thanks to the whole team for taking the time to talk to me and outline both the challenges they face but also how I can help as a local MP.
