It was a real honour to have the honour to present some of the trophies at the annual Huntingdon Cromwell Rotary Club boxing night with Cambridgeshire Constabulary Police Boxing Club (CAMPOL).
The club was established on the Oxmoor estate in 1972 by Police Officer Mick Taylor with the aim of helping young people avoid getting into trouble and crime by learning how to box. Mick sadly passed away in 2023 but the club and its impact is very much his legacy.
The Rotary Foundation Committee supports the Boxing Club with this annual dinner that raises money for it.
Some cracking bouts that made me grateful that my own Boxing Days are behind me! Congratulations to all those who stepped into the ring. It does take some guts to go toe-to-toe with someone in the ring, no matter what the result is.
