Ben talking to the Year 6's at Westfield Junior School

“What’s it like being an MP?”

Probably the easiest of the questions I was asked yesterday by the Year 6 pupils at Westfield Junior School.

My visit was to speak to Year 6 as part of the PSHE curriculum covering Rights and Responsibilities and to help give them an insight into the role that government plays in society and the role of Members of Parliament.

A fun session with some insightful questions and a few that kept me in my toes too.

My thanks to Mr Fenton for asking me to come and speak. Hopefully it was informative and it didn’t put them off politics (and politicians) too much!

Always great to get down to All Saints Parish Church in St Ives to support this beer festival; I’ve got quite the collection of pint glasses now.Proceeds from the event go directly towards the church’s running costs and into supporting the community through local charities and the work of the church
