Earlier this week I met with Anglian Water to discuss the recent fine from OFWAT.
The recent £65 million fine following the review of sewage outflows will be spent on improvements to existing infrastructure in order to mitigate future occurrences. Anglian Water do have a large catchment area and none of the sewage outflows relate to watercourses within the Huntingdon constituency.

Anglian Water outlined their role in the consultation process and their involvement in the planning of the sites. Both sites have attenuation ponds and flood resilience and as such local residents should be assured that
With regards to the proposed Fens Reservoir in Chatteris I have also requested that communication from Anglian Water regarding any disruptive building works from associated infrastructure, particularly the work between Chatteris and Bluntisham, is also broadened to ensure all local residents are kept informed.
I will continue to keep a close eye on water infrastructure issues, particularly flooding, as we work with the Lead Local Flood Authority this winter to tackle flooding issues.
