Kimbolton Fire Station

This weekend I was out in Kimbolton and the surrounding villages with Cllr Jonathan Gray distributing our literature detailing the proposed Fire Service plans to close Kimbolton Community Fire Station.

Having discussed this in detail with both the impacted firefighters and also with local residents who have serious concerns regarding the proposed closure, it is clear that this is a proposal that is in urgent need of the consultation period scheduled to begin on 20th December.

The closure of the station alongside two others in Manea and Sutton will leave Kimbolton and the surrounding villages to be covered by the two pumps in St Neots and will have an impact upon the Fire Service's response time both to fire and rescue situations. In addition to this it means we could potentially lose some highly experienced firefighters. I very much believe the station should remain open in order to provide timely and valuable fire service coverage for the surrounding area.

Please support our campaign to keep the station open.

Saving Kimbolton Community Fire Station

Since the proposed closure of Kimbolton Communty Fire Station was announced by the Fire Service I have campaigned to keep it open, liaising with both the impacted firefighters and meeting with the senior leadership team of the Fire Service. You may already have heard about my campaign to save it.

Always great to get down to All Saints Parish Church in St Ives to support this beer festival; I’ve got quite the collection of pint glasses now.Proceeds from the event go directly towards the church’s running costs and into supporting the community through local charities and the work of the church
